This is a genuinely important book to read. If you dont want to buy the book at least buy the $5 comic of the same name on amazon or directly through the seller “silver sprocketâ€. The art and colors are also stunning. Ben passmore is amazing.
I first read "Your Black Friend" when Ben Passmore introduced it as an 11-page black and white comic at the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo in June, 2016. I recognized it immediately as a work that needed to be disseminated more widely than in just the comics community. His humor and insight are infectious and they spread his point of view while also being entertaining. This colored version of the comic takes it to another level. I look forward to Ben's career and being a witness to the changes that this self-proclaimed anarchist can bring about.
As a foreign student who as no black friend, sometimes the point is a little bit hard to understand. However, the first comic just blew my mind. It makes the point so well.
This is so good and so original there aren't words that can really put it together in a review.
The title story is good, but the others are just weird. And the small format is hard to read.
