If you are generation X and have a generation Z kid, this book will make you feel good about the way you've raised your kids. The author describes this newest generation, their characteristics, and what is important to them. It also differentiates between gen Z and the millennials. Unlike the millennials who were raised as the internet and cell phones were becoming mainstream, gen Z ALWAYS had internet, mobile phone, and social networking, and consequently are a generation much more focused on social issues. As an educational worker and a parent of gen z kids, this book provided a lot of insight into what makes this kids tick. It is a quick and interesting weekend read.

This is an essential book not only for those working in college and university settings like student affairs professionals and faculty but an excellent book for anyone and everyone who interacts with Generation Z folks. It serves as a great roadmap to truly understand who this next generation is and how to foster and develop them as they enter adulthood and into the workforce. Additionally, the quality of original research and the expansive sources that this book draws from is quite impressive. Seemiller and Grace have done a beautiful job crafting all their research findings into an accessible and easy to read book that reaches far beyond academia. If you've ever read Freakanomics, it is comparable in style and makes you want to read it from start to finish. I am so thankful that this book exists so I can provide Generation Z with the best resources and guidance I can. Although I am sure they can teach me a lot more than I can teach them, this book has given me great hope for the future!

"Generation Z Goes to College" has been an incredible resource for me throughout my college career. It has been so helpful to have research-backed, well-articulated language to use to describe trends from my generation both to my peers and to professors and administrators at my university.As a heavily involved student on campus, I use Corey and Meghan's research to guide the educational programs that I design for my student groups, college students, and high school students. When I interact with administrators, I use this book as a guide to help put into words the feelings and sentiments of college students that I believe must be considered when making choices that affect the student book.Corey and Meghan make their research extremely accessible for any audience, which I believe is critically important to engaging with this generation of students. I look forward to future work from both of these authors to support my future as a higher education professional!

I felt like this book is written at a high school level, but is for those who are 50+. It's filled with lots of facts and findings, but little real analysis or conclusions. Overall, it's approach is elementary and vague.

What a wonderful tool to help educators understand what makes these students tick. I have already adjusted several leadership events to reflect some things discussed within this book and have already passed it around my office for others to educate themselves.Working with collegians is tough work ,but the more we understand the better we will be at reaching them where they are.

This book provides excellent information about how Generation Z learns. College professors can read this book to keep their classes updated to ensure their classes are well designed to maximize their Generation Z students’ learning. The book provides excellent suggestions of course design to keep Generation Z interested and engaged in the classroom.

This was a required textbook for a class that I was taking. I enjoyed the insight the book offered but it seems like it takes a simplistic approach many times without going into more detail of the subject matter at hand. It is also examining a generation of people that live in an advancing and ever-changing world so things that are listed in the book that were relevant when it was published become irrelevant six months down the line. Again, the book is good for some insight into the given population but for more in-depth coverage I would turn elsewhere.

For those not familiar with the digital online world this was a good survey. For those seeking concrete suggestions, not so much.I found a lack of critical comparisons in too many cases. For example, gen Z likes so and so. But often this was not thoroughly compared or contrasted with other gens. Many of those observations actually apply to many of the others, thus not serving as differentiators.Having said that, I did take away some potentially useful info.
