While the deck concept is absolutely gorgeous, the card quality is terrible! No gilded edges either, which, in my opinion, adds to the over all deck appearance. Plus, one of the cards from the middle of the deck came crumbled, how the heck did that happen? Another card has three cuts on the top right corner which will become a problem over time and with use. Now, the individual cards are gorgeous, yet while some are crystal clear, others are blurry. Not sure if the blurriness is supposed to depict dreamy qualities, if so, it falls a wee bit short of that. Could also be my eyeballs and allergies!I just contacted Hay House and was told that the gilded edges were discontinued because of cards sticking together and being ruined when pulled apart and when shuffled. Also, the person who chatted with me was very helpful and nice.Overall, this deck is gorgeous! I love it!P.S.~I exchanged this deck for a similar one. The replacement deck has 7 defective cards! The other deck had 2. Not happy at all!P.P.S.~ My two replacement cards arrived today. Very thankful for them, and the colors and pictures are sharper, clearer, and they have gilded edges. That's all I'm gonna say.

I was excited to receive this and I must say I'm not disappointed at all but it wasn't quite what I was expectibg either. First, despite having never been open as was evident by the shrink wrap still intact, the cards were all bent in a very obvious curve. I've managed to bend them mostly straight but despite the lovely images I found the cardstock to be of a lower grade, flimsy, and with the edges easy to mark up. The edges are also an unattractive white but that can be fixed by inking them with your desired color. The cards themselves are interesting enough. They're like fantasy themed archetypes though I did find the keyword for "abundance" among three or four cards a bit repetitive. The keywords are also lacking and a bit vague, as if disconnected from giving a solid meaning in some cases. The book provides a paragraph of a story styled description but you will have to draw some solid meaning from it. Not really made for readers who are more straightforward and to the point. Great if you're more of a poetic reader and are able to draw well from abstract concepts rather than more distinctive and established archetypal figures.

So this deck is what made me decide to write a review on all of my tarot cards so I could measure my thoughts on each. I recently bought 3 different ones going by "what I was led to" and this one just drew me in off the cover and i have been pleasantly surprised by my use of them now for almost 2 months on a daily basis. The artwork is ahhhhmazing! The inclusion of "Ally" and "Challenger" was a bit different for me to get used to and when i thought about it of course some cards will come up upside down. Despite that commonality in readings and working with cards, of my three decks this one is the only one to offer a different interpretation depending on how the cards fall. The guidebook is great and very insightful! One of my favorite parts about this deck more than ANY OTHER I have seen relates to the wide spectrum of diversity riddled throughout the deck wherein which it is not just white and female depictions, but there are Asians, African American, males, etc...I even have taken pics of my cards and sent them to friends who did not believe you could even see a black woman or an Asian man featured on a tarot card. For that alone this deck deserves 10 stars. While race does not and should not matter, if/when you give readings there will be diversity in how people look and its nice to see various representation of eternal, angelic beauty across racial and gendered lines that are intentionally sketched as opposed to merely putting a darker tone to a normally white figure. So thank you to the author/artist of this deck for reminding the world of the vast diversity in representation. I will end in saying too that these cards are SO on point often its eery to consider. I'm a beginner but I was pleasantly surprised to see a woman I got a past life reading from had the same deck in her living room glass case and she said the same, that it is one of her favorites. HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!

About the Author

Ajanta Chakraborty was born in Bhopal, India, and moved to North America in 2001. Chintu the squirrel made it special! I asked my daughter what she remembered from the book and little Chintu is what came to mind (okay wish the answer was Lord Rama saving Seeta, but I'll take what I can get)Simple is structure to help kids understand some of the background and rituals of Diwali. Good pictures to keep kids engaged.Only complaint... Seriously, we ARE brown in skin tone. It's okay, you don't have to lighten us up to make yourself (or your readers) feel better about themselves. I teach my daughter to take pride in her unique beauty and get darker shade of skin. It's good for her to see us represented in our own books!

The authors have written this book for ages 3 - 7 and P - 3. I will readily admit that I am so far beyond those years. And, I will also admit that this was a fascinating, educational and entertaining book for me to read.Having no idea what this celebration entailed, this book explains each and every day of the 'Festival of Lights' in India. I could certainly use the First Day in my house to get myself new pots and pans. Each day holds such wonderful traditions for the children to behold. For me, the favorite of all days was the fifth. That is the one in which brothers and sisters promise to take care of each other.An absolutely wonderful book for children to be exposed to today. Learning the traditions of another country exposes them to so many things. And, this exposure will lead them to accept others more easily.Well done to the authors and I have already 'followed' you on Amazon so I can be kept up to date on new books. The drawings are also bright, colorful and well done. The little ones will be gazing at the pictures that accompany the text. And, the parents will be able to point out the story line easily with the drawings. Questions can be easily answered by the parents.Most highly recommended.

Love this book series!!! So great to teach our Indian culture to Indian-American kids! It would be awesome to see more festivals represented (e.g., Christmas in India, Sankranti, Ganesh Chaturthi, etc.). Also, what would really be cool is if Neel and Maya visited each state in India and learned about their food, culture, clothing, language, important sights to see, etc. India is such a beautifully diverse country, and it would be great to showcase the diversity of each state in this book series so that Indian American kids can be proud of their heritage!

Excellent book - first of its kind - on very popular Hindu festival of Diwali. Must have for every Hindu family with young kids living outside of India. The authors did an amazing job to summarize the series of festival. Illustrations are beautiful. My kids aged 3 and 9 absolutely love it. What I like most is the focus on culture aspects of how it is celebrated than why. Even though authors explain the why very crisply, the focus is clearly on the celebration, the festivities and fun. That also reduces the burden on fact checking. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a way to explain Diwali to your NRI kids and want to do it through a fun medium.

I found this book to be a great hit with my 3 year old. This books captivates young children through the end with descriptive illustrations. This has become a favorite book to read. My child now knows and understands 5 days of Diwali and is looking forward to it 😊This does not touch the religious aspect too much which was what we were looking for for starters.

We have quite a few Diwali books and this is the one that my kids ask for the most. They love Maya, Neel, and Chintu! This is a great overview of how we celebrate Diwali with lots of fun details to describe each day to get kids excited for the festival! I lent mine to my sons teacher so his classmates could enjoy and learn as well! Looking forward to reading this one for years to come as well as following Maya and Neel’s adventures all over India!!

Very poorly written book. It’s funny that 2 siblings travel by themselves to India for Diwali to a single aunts house. No parents and no other relatives. While Diwali is all about being with family. Misses our crucial information. Waste of money.

This book does not offer nearly the level of detail that the test expects. Thankfully Microsoft was offering a free online practice test (previously included with their books) so it was apparent how much was lacking from the book before I took the test. You need to use some other exam prep material if you expect to pass the test.

Don't let this book your only study guide. Use it as a table of contents to spring board into areas you are weak in, use it to study as you sit at work. I used it with online training and was able to pass. Labs are crucial to passing any exam these days so don't neglect that area of study. Good luck!\

I would give this reference 3/5 stars. There is a lot of good information in this book, but you will NEED to supplement with MS virtual labs and other Microsoft resources in order to pass the upgrade exam. This book helps with bring a lot of information in to one location instead of searching the entire TechNet site. Additionally, the author does a decent job of explaining information you may not know.
